I passed all my core (photo) classes.

Then you need a better tutor/course, cause you don’t seem to have picked up even the basics of composition, posing, colour management or exposure.

I knew some of these would be picked

So why are they even on display?

Weddings 7, 8, 14 and 19 were class assignments, 19 was for a magazine class.

Your deviant i.d  lists you as an artist and PROFESSIONAL photographer, yet you use pictures from classes assignments on your portfolio?

15 was between the wedding and reception, the only time the bride wanted to take for pictures

If you are a professional photographer, you decide when and where the pics are taken.

And the church pic was so noisy because flash isn’t allowed inside the cathedral.

Welcome to the real world! It’s not like photo class is it!

    Did you pass?

To Worst Case Scenario, what was the image you had no idea about?

It was a sort water reflection thing, I think. I really have no idea what it is….

Well I only looked in one folder ( wedding 21) and I saw bad colour, high light burn out, bad posing, messy backgrounds, spot colour, bad cut outs, flash shadow, noise, unsharp images, tilted horizons, white vignettes, bad B/W and a shot that I have no idea what it’s meant to be of!

I think you’ve ticked all the boxes for a Faux, but at least you are asking for confirmation so you must of had a inkling.

I think your biggest problem is that youpic site! I too wondered why you so bad at cropping until I clicked on a pic and got the full image. No one who’s serious about photography would want their pics displayed like that. Dump that and get a flickr account.

I liked what I saw, even the spot colour is subtle enough to get away with. There’s some focus issues and the BW conversion on some could be improved but I think you have a good eye. Now you need to start finding good photos that aren’t of your kids!

eyedocs points are valid, so many people think that putting a watermark on an image will make it look professional. I am a professional but hardly ever water mark my images because by the time they get onto the internet, I’ve already been paid for them.  That said, I didn’t actually notice your watermark on first viewing and had to go back to find out what the fuss was about.

It’s a standard problem here that people ask for critique and when they don’t like the response they demand to see the work of the critiquer. That attitude (and maybe the water mark) are your only faux traits.

It looks like a good start, but there are two many pictures to be able to give advice on. Maybe  create an online album with your favourite 10 and then ask for help. Two things stand out as general problems, first your black and whites are very muddy (greyish) do you  have any form of post processing? And all you pics are in landscape format – turn that camera for better cropping.

Nesgran, how did you get to see so much? All I could see were 7 wedding pics? And lets face it, if you are only showing 7 pics, they should be the  best pics you’ve taken. SERIOUSLY! The blown highlights are awful, is that why there are no white people in them ?

I’ve just patented spot colouring and white vignettes….. (sits back and waits for the cheques to roll in)

I think you should BURN IN HELL for putting a dog in a tutu, but I don’t think any of your shots will be featured on this website if you start charging.

Most of the above is true, but I never put a lot of stock into what equipment you use. If you are good you don’t need every lens ever made.

Take them now – maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.

True…. but we’ll always have Paris

After reading your  reply and looking at the expression on your face in the pic – I have visions of you putting the camera on self timer and then throwing it into the air and hoping that the lens points downward! : )

If I was picky I’d say that the lighting doesn’t match. The highlights (burn outs?) on your head and hand don’t match the feet, which have multiple shadows and you don’t. It’s still a cool shot though.

Can’t help thinking that some one who goes by the name Fine Art Fotos should be a LOT better.

They all look good to me, the only one I would alter is Prosecution. The light right behind the guy catches your eye and draws it from his face. It’s a 10 sec job if you are half decent at  photoshop.

I know that working with theatre lights is a nightmare (is that why they are in BW?).

In North America gasoline is usually just called gas and is purchased from gas stations.

I knew that petrol is called gas, or gasoline. But what do you call the stuff that is piped into you house to run the heating? We call it gas.
