Ahhh, Wikipedia – where I learned that Elvis, Jim Morrison and Michael Jackson were all found alive and well doing private gigs in Al Capone’s vault until Amelia Earhart flew them to an undisclosed location believed to be somewhere NEAR Fantasy Island.

it’s been awhile since I was in premed chemistry, but I don’t think tetrahydrothiophane is naturally occurring – it is made with molecules which ARE naturally found. Neither is mercaptan, the other sulphur based aroma.

natural gas is mostly methane (CH4) with a potpourri of other hydrocarbons mixed in – the most important of which is a man-made foul odor recognizable by just about anyone worldwide as a “potentially deadly gas leak.” Natural gas is odorless in it’s native form.

the gas to heat your home is called “natural gas” which is a fossil fuel formed from many layers of buried plants, gases and ‘other stuff ‘ (mostly the dinosaurs) which were exposed to intense heat and pressure over millions of years. It’s generally found next to, or nearby, large petroleum deposits.

So, we have an au pair from Germany living with us here in NYC. In fact, since my daughter was born some 7 years ago, we’ve 4 au pairs (some stayed longer than the standard year). We’ve had one Swede, one Polish and 2 from Germany.

Each had their own quirks, but they all had a common habit with our cars – they would drive fairly long distances with nearly an empty tank! We have a Honda Civic (that the au pair may drive herself), along with a BMW and a Volvo which are for trips with my daughter. In all 3 cars, my wife and I have become accustomed to seeing the orange “low gasoline” light on the dash so often, we began thinking it was a normal thing.

It wasn’t until we RAN OUT OF GAS one day that we finally set a house rule – if the gas guage is below 1/2, the only place anyone may drive is to a gas station.

Each of the au pairs told us the same – petrol is so expensive it is common to drive only when necessary and a full tank is almost NEVER required.

and when you hover the mouse over the pic, it says YOUR NAME?! Honestly, are you taking credit for famous shots from outerspace?!

It’s not worth you pursuing photography if you’re going to palm off other digital art as your own.

You lost all cred with me, Drew. Oh, and by the way, remember the egg. CC knows what that’s about, and I think you better watch that video every day until you get the idea. Which may be never.

that’s why it intrigued me! Drew, I’m guessing you haven’t been out on a space walk recently.

Why put that photo in your portfolio? Did you want us to believe YOU were practicing shots in space?

Could you please take a look at some of my photographs and tell me if it’s worth me pursuing photography.

More background info is needed here…

Are these your first shots ever, or is this an example of your skill after years of practice? Are you looking for a career in photography based on these examples or merely pursuing a hobby?

One photo does intrigue me however… the one taken of the earth from I’m guessing 75,000 feet or so.

Don’t need $$$ for off-camera flash work – a decent Youngnuo manual flash could work just fine at $75.

My feeling is you have a good eye and some winner shots, you just need to create more ‘pop’ to your photos, if that makes sense. Look at this website for ideas on bringing out the best in your subjects:Β  http://digital-photography-school.com/. I learned much from them when I was starting out.

Plus, post only your best stuff! There are photogs who have portfolios of only 5 or 6 pics. I’m an amateur who shoots for hobby, but I have had a few paid gigs of kids parties – and my “portfolio” consists of 2 shots of my daughter. πŸ™‚
