nairbynairbParticipant
Just came across this one:
https://www.facebook.com/justforclicksphotography
1-2 decent shots… the rest is so… ugh
nairbynairbParticipantShe just bought her camera in December and immediately jumped into being a “professional” photographer.
You knew this but still hired her? What did you expect you’d get?!

Sorry folks!
But yeah, I’m a fan of detail in the skin which is what I was trying to get at… 😛

Yes a lot of the times it looks amazing, but sometimes you have it with photos that shouldn’t have it and you actually put people out of focus.
Perfect example of this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1085152_555474501154395_577826797_o.jpg
Another thing to watch for is over exposing skintones… https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/q71/s720x720/1000933_555139211187924_585162487_n.jpg
(she might have pale skin to begin with so over exposing isn’t really helping her :P)Here’s a quick example I did…
This is your original:And I did a bit of curves lowering the brightness and adding a bit of colour back into her skin:

Other than that, you’re on the right track!
nairbynairbParticipantnairbynairbParticipantRemember to bring enough memory, and spread it out over a couple of different cards in case of technology failing you.
Remember to be personable, all while getting the job done.
This is a no-brainer but in case you forgot: Make sure all of your batteries are charged… including ones for flash/remote triggers.
nairbynairbParticipantDo you charge?
nairbynairbParticipantIf you care enough to tell him, send him a private message?
It seems like you’re making a bigger deal out of it than you should. If that’s the only thing wrong about the photo, it’s no where near fauxtographer-ish.
nairbynairbParticipant“I believe in the most bang for YOUR buck!”
“Each session is $50.00 this will included edited photographs and a CD with all of
the pictures taken during your setting. However, if there is a problem with your pictures, or for some reason you aren’t happy. Please let me and I will retake your pictures at no charge to you. However, you must return your sessions disc!”le sigh
nairbynairbParticipantIt’s too big in my opinion. A lot of people these days use monitors with lower screen resolutions so they’d have half of the picture on their screen and would have to scroll down to see the rest.
When I browse photography websites I like to see different categories… That’s just my preference!
If you’re going to include your boudoir on your site, I think it should be separate so people know what they’re getting when they click on the link that leads them there.
Good luck 🙂
nairbynairbParticipantI’m Canadian and don’t know what 4-H is… I’m also feeling too lazy to google it. Care to clarify?
nairbynairbParticipantAlso… Just to show that there is no comparison between you and Alec:
Alec –

You –

Get my point?
nairbynairbParticipantFirstly, sorry to hear about Jenny.
Secondly, she did a great job teaching you.
You are quite literally miles and miles ahead of the other two photographers you talked about. Bri (imo) is much better than Alec. Alec just has random snapshots with horrible editing. Bri at least has some eye for noticing cool photo ideas.
You have nothing to worry about. Keep learning, keep shooting and keep it up!
(Don’t let this go to your head though ;))
nairbynairbParticipantI’d recommend going with another photographer.
Just like Cass said, if she doesn’t make you go “WOW” then why would you even bother?
nairbynairbParticipantI agree with a lot that was said by Gnork, except I wasn’t really impressed with those newborn photos. They were too over-edited for me. Other than that, I liked what I saw 🙂
