Some of Morgan’s stuff is quite nice, but a lot of it is just “blah.” I did see a few out of focus shots that a photographer with her status should probably not post. Some of the kids in the studio have overexposed faces. I like some of the model shots. She’s across the board. She obviously knows how to run a business though, she seems to have quite a following.

Some fauxtogs have really good gear but can’t use it. This fauxtog are a proud owner of Nikon D700/D300, “Holy Trinity” f/2.8 and no less than six SB-900’s!! He also have other lenses, camera’s and Lastolite Ezybox softbox.
This fauxtog really loves Nik Software (Color Efex4 and Silver Efex2).

March 30, 2013 at 10:37 am #8348cameraclickerParticipant@ SteveLevens, I didn’t find a fauxtog at http://www.facebook.com/pages/fo2re-fotograf-Tore-Hansen/217338831628812?sk=photos_stream. It may not be your thing, but the description is Artist, and there are a lot of quite good photos there. I didn’t see anything that suggested difficulty operating a camera. There are software effects and colour casts but I suspect they are there because they were desired, not because of a lack of skill or knowledge.

April 1, 2013 at 2:54 pm #8427mamarizzoParticipant$150 for a wedding! i’m all over that!
April 2, 2013 at 4:57 am #8464ConcernedParticipantWe have a couple of fauxtographers around our area too. We live in a small town and its amazing when a really good photographer got remarried and moved up north, how many of the fauxtogtaphers came out of the woodwork.
I am not sure when she looked through her camera lens what she thought was so cute about this pose! On top of that, I believe the only thing focus is a part of her breast.
What at all is adorable about this photo? I am not sure what she uses to edit these with
Here is one of her wedding photos, which I believe she actually charges $1200 for. With 14 “likes” on it!! Should check out all her photos!!
Personally, if these were my wedding photos, I would be suing for my $$ back!!
Here is another overnight pop up fauxtographer. Not sure how this photo shows 100% happiness, do you?
Prices like these I guess that tells it all!!
Ok, that is my take on the fauxtographers in our town!! Why aren’t people just honest with them? Don’t “like” something on facebook that looks like crap and lead these people on!! According to the first girls web site, she just ordered t-shirts!
Concerned!
April 2, 2013 at 4:28 pm #8476SarahParticipantThat is some pretty bad stuff you guys…
I dont want to link to this person’s page because she is a past client of mine =/
She decided she want to try it out I guess and has created the worst selective coloring photo I have ever seen:
http://i50.tinypic.com/2d6mzus.png
Anyway there is also: hsquaredphotoservices.com
The first image is completely out of focus and they claim to have 30 years combined experience in the field. I did notice that the images on their facebook page are a little better. It may just be a lack of creativity though because nothing wows me.
April 2, 2013 at 9:40 pm #8485ANBvictop82ParticipantWTH!! Really!!! Are these people blind?
April 3, 2013 at 4:03 pm #8514fstopper89ParticipantOh god those are terrible!
Ugh, yet ANOTHER fauxtog just popped up in my town this week. All his shots are grainy and his “people” shots are terrible, no attention to the light and shadows, and he posted “booking now for your spring photo-shoot!” and he’s already got comments. I wonder what he charges… probably $25. Haha.
Here’s his profile pic for his page, I don’t even think this is him in the photo or he took this photo, he looks a little different… https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=451140384964688&set=a.451110161634377.102258.451109971634396&type=1&theater

April 3, 2013 at 5:30 pm #8518fstopper89ParticipantThey are totally convinced that is an “orb” in the photograph, as in a ghost orb. Some people said it was dust or water on the lens and he’s going to check with the photographer to see if the lens needs cleaning. IT’S CALLED BOKEH you morons! Something way in the background was reflecting sunlight. They really call themselves photographers?
