ParticipantAt first glance I thought she was plucking her eyebrows.
Plucking her eyebrows, or who knows what! At least the comment wasn’t about how much the image was loved:
Lanah Grace Oh dear god, horrible. Professional services, you say?

Participantam I the only one who thinks that is way too much white vignette? makes me wonder what they screwed up on that they are trying to cover up. I also thought she was plucking her eyebrows but now I am not sure and keep trying to figure out what she is doing lol

The selective coloring in this is horrible and it seems like they use some sort of grain effect on some of them. I’d be livid if I paid for these.
This is from the same studio and album as the sister ironing the baby. The baby’s head is not supported and how in the world do parents agree with the idiot that presents this idea in the first place?
I don’t think sticking your child in a pumpkin is all that charming, either.

ParticipantI hate selective coloring lol it was cute the first time I saw it but then it just got annoying I agree with your opinion there. I also do not know how anyone agrees to put their child in an unsafe place for the sake of a photo. The pumpkin I am gonna have to disagree on lol for some reason I like the idea behind the pumpkin photos although I know my son would hate being put in a pumpkin.

ParticipantLOL! “Fantasy Memoria” is apparently the owner of “$20 Mini Sessions/Memories” used to “work for” until their partnership went sour. That’s what I meant by Ms. $20 having been doing photography for 2 years, yet has not improved. (Both fauxtogs are local to me).

ParticipantWhat’s with the loo roll in this picture?
Unless you’re Jill Greenberg why would you include a picture of a screaming baby in your portfolio?! It looks very uncomfortable and dangerous.

ParticipantSorry, my last post didn’t make sense. I was on my phone not paying attention.
The lady who runs “$20 Mini Sessions” or “$20 Memories” used to work with/for the lady who runs “Fantasy Memoria” about two years ago, in some kind of “partnership.” They were both horrid. They had some kind of falling-out. $20 lady started her new page earlier this spring and has been heavily advertising on the buy/sell sites and people are flocking to her.

ParticipantI know I’m still wet behind the ears, so I feel bad throwing stones (hey at least I don’t charge and know good and well I’m a noob)…. but I came across this person on facebook and immediately wanted to share it on here. She charges $80 for a 1 hour session & a disc (shoot and burn? can’t remember the term lol)

I’ve looked through a decent chunk of them and I don’t even know where to begin. Blurry, out of focus, and weird coloring.

ParticipantCraigslist find – “established, award-winning, professional wedding photographer.”
http://www.aesthetic-photo.com/index.php?splash=1#/gallery-1/1
I could only find a handful of photo in her wedding gallery that were in sharp focus. Lighting issues, poor composition, brides on train tracks, wonky editing.
Not to mention the website is poorly made and slow to navigate.

ParticipantAnother Craigslist post was a Canon Rebel XT for sale. I think the guy must be older. He said he bought this setup after he had already retired.
“Hi, I am a retired Professional Portrait and Fine Art photographer. . . I am one of Wisconsin’s winningest photographers of many awards over the years.
I have for sale my excellent condition CANON Rebel XT camera body with a Canon 50mm F1.8 EF lens. . . ALSO with it are THREE lens filters, UV, Haze and Polar. . .AND you get a Canon BG-E3 battery grip. . Plus the two types of battery holders, one for the Canon Li-ion battery Pack and the holder for 6 AA batteries. . . I bought this grip because mainly it makes you “look” more professional AND it gives you a CHOICE in batteries to use, and the AA batteries are a very good choice IF you are on a job and you need a battery change and have run out.”Lol, the battery grip makes you “look” more professional.

ParticipantThis guy takes photos at concerts in the Pittsburgh area (local to me) and I was looking for shots of some shows I missed. Found these instead…

ParticipantIt’s been awhile since I posted here. Anyway, I found this on a local Facebook group page geared towards photographers, models, makeup artist, and hair stylists who are trying to network and get paid work. The moderator (who is a legit and seasoned professional photographer) posted a pinned message saying “If you Are advertising $25 mini sessions, $400 turn and burn weddings or some other ridiculously unprofessional rate under the poorly informed idea that you are just starting out then I will remove you until you come back and post with professionally competitive pricing.” I know he had the following photographer in mind when he wrote this:

I really don’t get posing with blue paint that was splashed on your shirt over your pregnant belly.

I wonder what drama would ensue. LOL!
