Born to Shine

This one is kind of like a brightly colored floral slap to the retinas.

  1. I’m pretty sure I am going to have nightmares after seeing this …

  2. that creeps me out.

  3. Brittany

Very scary. Too much photoshop, that’s for sure.

  4. Becky

    Super creepy!

  5. Oooh, that reminds me of that creepy program on TLC..
Uhm what is it called again, it is that pedofile show where they dress up small kids like prostitutes.

Hmm.. aaah Little Tiaras or somthing like that 😛

    • Toddlers and Tiaras. And wow…this hurts my eyes.

    • ithurtswhenipee

      I’m with you Arne,
The fact that there are enough parents, organizations, sponsors that condone this to have a TV show about it (not to mention the sponsorship of this TV show) in our society is disturbing. What happened to kids looking like kids? Oh, yeah – crap photograph too. Take out the clip art, remove the makeup and it wouldn’t be terrible.

  6. It’s alright, I didn’t plan to sleep tonight anyway.

  7. Chantal

    ishhhhh Too much of everything!!!!

  8. A photographer

Damn, is this some sort of pageant thing? Looking at the curled hair…

    Is this even a child?

    Kill me now.

  9. Emma Holton

Toddlers & Tiara’s style Photoshop. Ick.

  10. Seriously!?

    WTF IS THAT?!?!

  11. Way too much editing. When you smooth the skin until it looks like wax, you know you’ve gone too far.

  12. Absolutely hideous.

  13. It looks like they were *trying* to do an extreme beauty shot (like you might see in a fashion magazine) but overshot it by a million and just failed, miserably.

  14. Angela MacIsaac (@that_angela)

Is anything other than the flowers in focus?

  15. Shelley

It’s supposed to be a glitz pageant headshot. There are people who will take a regular photo that you have taken and “glitz” it up. While I have seen good examples of this, I can say this is not one!

  16. Elizabeth

I think I just threw up a little, what the heck is this.

  17. FOCUS!

  18. spike

Okay..take away the flowers, the hair (which I doubt is really that little girl’s) and undo WhateverTF they did to her eyes… start from SOTC-scratch and you still have that unflattering uplighting that makes just about any face look like a 1950s monster movie poster.

  19. NicCole

Why do you need to airbrush a child? Are her wrinkles and sunspots that bad already? Deep circles from play-dates? Let her look like a kid!

  20. Cassie

Oh no! She got stuck in the Friskies commercial!

  21. Meowcate

    Why so creepy ?

  22. This is so bad, it wrapped around the universe and turned into almost good. It’s so ridiculous, but shows some silly creativity.

I wish they would’ve nailed the focus, though.

I feel dirty liking this, but it’s a few inches from a good conception… which is what most women in my life have told me.

  24. Janet

At least the flowers are in focus….

  25. Christi

Who takes this, edits this and then says wow, this is great, I think I’ll post this for everyone to see? Who? Even worse, some people like this bs, I see it on Facebook everyday. What is the world coming to?

    • There’s a friend of a friend I see on facebook who has a photography page. She’s ridiculous. She’s just some high school girl with a fancy camera but a few people have bought into it. Anyway, she edited pictures of herself to look all plastic-waxy like this poor child and when people asked her about it, she says, “That’s just how I look in pictures because I’m pale.” People are morons. lol

  26. Miss Obnoxious

Haha I love the cartoon flower crown. Nice. 😛

  27. Wsroadrunner

    It made my eyes bleed…..

  28. Dafarq is that???!!! Seriously!! My 4 year old could do better!

  29. Colorray

I actually like this one, I don’t see what the problem is. I love bold primary colors in a photo and it all seems to work together.
Maybe that’s why I’m such a bad photographer.

  30. Canaduck

Makes me think of that creepy old Soundgarden video from the early 90s for Black Hole Sun.

  31. Toddlers and Tiaras meets American Beauty.
