For the Arangatram shots: the performance was in a high school auditorium with very little lighting, and as it was my first time shooting a performance, I was obviously inexperienced…so I just sort of messed around until I found something that didn’t look too horrible.

Otherwise, I appreciate the advice on cropping!

From your wedding shots: Yes, they are more faux than pho.  You used techniques that many fauxtogs use: selective coloring, automatic flash, awkward poses…not to mention a lot of the pictures are actually rather grainy/noisy.

But fear not!  You are question yourself, and not proclaiming that you are a professional and deserve to be paid a lot, so you are already well on your way from being faux to pho!

The camera strap doesn’t hurt at all.  And for a more select group of my pictures: http://zohh.deviantart.com/gallery/31945884

Don’t forget deviantArt!  Of course, the main thing that has to be taken into consideration with that site is that a lot of teenagers use it, so their poor photography is a bit more forgivable.
