  1. UM!!!!! That’s disturbing!

  2. oh no….why 🙁

  3. Oh…what do you say? No….just no.

  4. I’m pretty sure even Ted Nugent would disapprove of this photo.

  5. W…..T……F…… !!!!!!

  6. Well see, my husband he was killed in a huntin axdent an I wanted pitchurs of our baby with his last huntin troffee. I thinks the fotagrafer did an exlent job at it.

  7. Must. Crank. All. Lightroom. Sliders.

  8. where is the proof that this is a pro photo???? I see no watermark or business name blocked out anywhere

  9. oh my, I don’t even know where to start with what’s wrong with that.
I can usually find something nearly good in a photo (if I look really, really hard) but I have failed with this one.

  10. The baby looks horrible! Never mind the crap around her!

  11. It hurts my eyes… I agree, Ted would def. not approve.

  12. we can’t criticize for what the client wanted. we can, however, criticize the AWFUL lighting!!

  13. WHY OH WHY?!

Tip: Un-“edit” the image and take away the antlers and you have a snapshot of a beautiful baby….which is I’m sure what Mom & Dad would want.

  14. WTH!? why is this poor child surrounded by sticks…. or deer antlers?! I mean its great that you are white trash, but is it necessary to display that in her infant portraits?! AWFUL, not to mention the “hdr-ish” look they have going on…. lovely!

  15. nah guys, it’s ok if you wear your sunnies while looking at it….

  16. Wow….no words.

  17. I’m speechless.

  18. Come on people – including the site owner – focus (pun intended) on the technical aspects of the photo, not on the setting or props. Maybe dad is a big game hunter or a taxidermist or maybe mom is – but whatever – that isn’t our (or the fauxtographer’s) problem.

Not everyone has your taste and style – deal with it.

The real problems with this image are: bad color, bad lighting and slightly snap shot like composition. Fix that and you’d have an acceptable baby photo.

    • Dave – I know where you’re going with that and all but the most important technical aspect of the photo begins with the composition and the idea itself. If that is flawed (or nonexistent in this case) how can you even begin to deal with the overexposure, poor editing and everything else?

      • Jeff –

We weren’t there – so we don’t know why the deer antlers and camo – maybe the parents are “rednecks” or just avid hunters… who cares? As long as their check cashes or money is not counterfeit – do the photo and make it look professional.

Heck for all we know – it could have been a submission to Field and Stream or one of the hundreds of other hunting magazines.

Is this (done right) something I’d put in my online portfolio? Probably not – but then again – it’s not me and I don’t know what the photographer is trying to market.

        Dave

My God, someone killed a baby!

Looking at this a second time I think that if this is what the parents wanted they were most definitely on the people of walmart site.

  22. I’m not really seeing this, right?
Somebody slipped some Eugene Liquid sunshine into my pie.
It will go away when the clouds come out.
I’d better not eat any more, huh?

  23. Somebody killed a baby, surrounded it with trash and deer antlers, and stuck a goofy hat on it.
    That’s sick!

    {Warning ~~ What follows is not very nice.}
As I see it, here’s the recipe for this composition:

    1. Take a freshly dead preemie, stick a hat made of two pandas holding a breast-cancer-pink ribbon on its little head.
    2. Purchase some used deer antlers and gnawed bones. Scatter them artistically around the scene.

    Very sick!

  26. What a horrible picture of a dead baby!

  27. HD-ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

  28. Wow.

For starters, I have to agree with many of the other posters. Don’t pick on the kid or what the parents chose for the shot. Also, as an individual from Southern Alabama, I’d greatly appreciate it if individuals would maintain public decency and refrain from implying that all individuals from the South are inbred and lack proper education.

The fauxtographer is obviously an amateur who gets a little photoshop happy. The brightness is overwhelming and it seems that the individual went overboard with HDR. The only thing I will say about the props is that there is just too much going on. The props draw attention from the child as does the bow.

Had the “fauxtographer” taken their time and applied their full attention and creativity to the photo, it may not have turned out so horrendous.

  29. I think this is the worst picture yet that has been posted on here. Truly horrific. I would normally want to post some witty sarcasm, but words fail me here.

  30. Kevin W. Clark

I’m sorry, but with the box, the overexposure, and the antlers…I just can’t shake the feeling that the fauxtog made this poor kid look like a home-sick abortion.

  31. This would be atrocious for an amateur, that’s what scares me. Not just bad but utterly disastrous. To think that someone paid money for this… I mean, OK, maybe the parents demanded the hideous bow and animal parts for some reason. And maybe the photographer fought them on it and lost. But he could still at least have taken a good picture (of a horrible scene). Maybe he thought a bad picture would make the parents never want to use him again? If so, he shouldn’t have let the picture get out into the wild. Please tell me this wasn’t on his website. This is…it’s a kind of bad I can’t even…express.

  32. K. Proulx

overexposed … weird composition … stupid ribbons added in … baby looks like its ready for taxidermy … CREEPY !!!

  33. Was that taken with a freakin 1st generation camera phone or something?
