I recently shot a bride-bride wedding and it was a blast… I do tend to put more post time into the brides, so it added a lot of extra time I didn’t expect.

I looked at the (newer?) site for as long as I could stand the music…. no button to turn it off? wtf….

I didn’t see anything too horrible, but again, I only looked at a few images.

How about a captcha that required you to select which if the 6 images was NOT from a fauxtographer…

    Hahha!

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of leeway on that, although it could probably be done. Miss it and it flags all your posts to be manually checked.

Anyways, looks like most of the spam is cleaned up, and even some false positives have been made visible.

I’m not going to be too sympathetic since she didn’t not like the shots enough to get someone else to shoot them. Not much difference between 3 or 4 mo.

Granted free shoots might go on the back burner, this tog is lying about losing the images. Start leaving bad reviews, and offer to pull them down once it’s resolved.

You might get a hoodman loupe to help with viewing. An 8×6 monitor will not be useful. Most LCDs are already bigger than that.

Dunno why it thought that was spam, IHF.

I don’t do a lot on this site, but was able to un-flag your post. I left the final one.

Your best lighting and posing is on the black man, and even then the wrap on his face was a bit hot. The others largely look contrived or poorly exposed. Post processing and lighting technique, as said above, need work.

Your single light images would’ve really benefitted from a reflector and proper exposure.

You might calibrate your monitor to verify it’s not set too bright.

I started using LR for the keyword database, but quickly found I could do the majority of my editing in it. The noise reduction is great, as are the lens corrections and all editing that doesn’t require layers.

As far as consistent tones, you need consistent light. The biggest source of bad tones I get comes from different colors of light.

What the hell am I reading?

Someone signed up and paid for a course, decided they didn’t want to take it, threatened to reverse payment on the innocent teacher, then when the teacher is trying to find someone else to take the seat she’s getting attacked?

Small minds and small people deserve no attention.

I think redacting the name is merely a courtesy. There’s little risk of liability when it’s clearly used in Fair Use.

Be aware that photography is one of the worst fields to enter at this point. It’s not so much an exit strategy if you have a job now, but a “try not to starve” strategy for most people. Not only do you have to make solid images, but you have to have a very good business sense. The best photographer in the world will starve if he can’t sell.

That slayed me. I think they captured nearly everything I hate about fauxtography in a single photo.

The september issue [of Vogue] is beautiful though. They really shine on that issue. I really wish they would put that kind of effort into every issue.

September is the most important issue of the year, for the fall fashions. They sell way, way more pages of advertisements, too. I would bet it’s 2x the size of the january issue. The cost of advertising is insanity for that month.

You can basically say that the september issue is really good, and not even say the year. It’s that consistent.

Hrm, I didn’t even think about that… I need to go buy that issue. As soon as I can forklift it into my car.
