SarahParticipant
Thanks for catching that mistake in the text. I will fix the link issue. Both web addresses are mine. The second website is simply for the purpose of booking online and to have a website deticated to weddings. I realize that it can get confusing and may decide to just keep them seperate. I understand your concern with the lights but I have not had any issues with any color casts. Trapping heat is no issue I assume because of the cooling fans inside my strobes. I have several light modifiers for diffrent effects: snoots, these umbrellas, barndoors, colored gels, reflectors
SarahParticipantNo problem enchantedkatie =)
SarahParticipantTo get back on topic…
I just saw this: http://i46.tinypic.com/15rd1qx.jpg
SarahParticipantThe only thing that I find wrong with the new rebels is that they use SD cards instead of CF so if you have a bunch of CF cards they are useless. I have also heard that SD cards write slower than CF cards.
SarahParticipantYa I thought about saying something about that last line because fauxs would be charging like $300 or less. I like your idea. That line is good.
SarahParticipantI have a 40D which is now a backup since I have bought the 5D classic (only about $650-$750 used!). Anyway I have successfully made a 24×36 print with the 40D. It looks ok but you can tell it has been pushed to its limit. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/546833_425314577523697_1340461447_n.jpg. I love my 40D and I think it would work for you if you would like to upgrade.
SarahParticipantsoaringturkeys: When I had a crop body iso was the last thing I would change but I just got a Canon 5d yesterday and compared my 40d and the 5d and now I am comfortable shooting at iso 800 with the 5d. I suppose I think about shutter speed first because I photograph people and don’t want any motion blur but that all depends on the situation. If i’m using flash then it does not matter as much.

Photographers should focus on theirr own marketing and not worried about what other are doing. That does suck but maybe the other photographers are just doing something wrong if they are loosing clients.

Do you have any proof of her stealing clients? Maybe if your clients are only after the cheepist they can get then they are not the right clients for you.
SarahParticipantI think the photos are a little cool not too warm. I agree most of them are a bit washed out. Have you tried slightly increasing saturation and contrast?
SarahParticipantAh I just know some brides would hate seeing a photo like that regardless of how dry the grass was. I would have tried a bit higher of a branch and knowing that was a shot she wanted I would have use a step stool to achieve it properly. But what’s done is done.
SarahParticipantAwesome story Spike.
Mine is less interesting. I look up to a photographer in the area that I had worked with in high school. He is a pretty well known wedding photographer in the area. I hope to be as successful as him one day.
SarahParticipantTrue Andy.
SarahParticipantHey Rick I use zenfolio as well! sarahashleyphotos.com
Edit: I just saw your website & you really let someone’s wedding dress drag the ground outside? Seriously? Just to hang it from a tree…
