Your right stef. I could get rid of the search on the homepage. It is pretty useless there but great on my blog. The photo mentioned was a first look. The idea putting the two together was the she was peeking at him so to show his back shows what she was looking at. His pants are messed up but I cant really fix that. Same with the bouquet. I don’t think she would appreciate me modifying her bouquet.

If you shoot RAW then you should be able to fix your white balance on the snow photo so the snow is not so green looking.

Your white balance is off here. I would also like to have seen more of the side of her face.

This one is out of focus also the other one of both of the kids looks grainy. I do like the pose though. A fill light in those images would have been a good idea.

What do you normally set your white balance to? Are you shooting RAW? Do you have a external flash? I think you need more practice. You should sign up for some classes and learn your camera inside and out. Then sign up for a lighting class to learn about off camera lighting. Also jealousy is not very good. Though id say the same things to her. You both need classes and need to learn how your cameras work and how lighting works.

I would prefer it if they were looking at the camera or looking at each other. A lot of shots like this look like they are looking at another photographer and you are just a second. It does look very technically sound though. Good job.

I agree with cameraclicker in that web / digital proofing (different than delivery) is a good idea because then the images can be shared more easily. We also offer e-books with our albums hosted on my website so books can even be shared easily. Of corse everything has printing disabled and the proofing gallery is watermarked. Though in reality print IS the final product and always has been. They may want to go to walmart because they think its cheaper and that’s fine that’s why you price your digital files accordingly.

Also I am speaking from a portrait / wedding photographers point of view. Im sure certain clients (like businesses) don’t care so much about prints and albums.

Everyone wants digital copies so I do provide them for a price. I have a unique situation though. My family is in the printing business (have been for 25+ years) and my studio is in their shop so I think we provide a nice high quality one stop shop type of service. We can even print and bind our own photo albums (hard bound too) right in the studio! To make my CDs higher quality we also print images along with their name on the CDs.

I think since all of the machines are all in the shop and my clients see that and they see the sample prints on the table along with the book that stears them more towards prints. I believe if they can see it and touch it they will want it more.

Thanks for looking everyone. I will be removing the underlines soon. I don’t think Ill be changing the logo soon though because I just made that one. Maybe in a few months. Any specific suggestions for the logo?

I was more intrested in what people think of my website. Though like most photographers I never think all of my images are great and im certainly not nearly as great as the wedding photographer I had worked with when I was in high school. I do not run the photo booth most of the time and it is something that is still pretty new to us. You were looking at pricing-photobooth. Those images are just to show the set up and the person in orange was the person running the photo booth at the time.

I had problems loading the photos on your website. Browsing it was fine until I got to the gallerys. So I went to your FB page and noticed a lot of your images are a bit to red. It also seems like you don’t have a great lens for low light situations because a lot of them are under exposed. I see that you do know what to capture at a wedding though. Like others have said you may want to not tilt your camera so much (if you do I think you should also take a straight photo because you may regret it later or the client may not like it).

When I get really bored of weddings I break out my fish tank and do stuff like this: sarahashleyphotos.com/artistic#h477454c8

I try to do different things with lighting and just play in the studio =)

Admittedly advertising with images that are not their own ooops. At least they are honest.

caboodle: film was often edited and developed in the darkroom by someone that worked for the photographer or the photographer himself.

cameraclicker: I understand they are different but you would think you would learn about external / on camera flash as well as studio lighting when you get into artificial lighting. The photos shown were from the reception. I know flash is usually not allowed during the ceremony which is why wedding photographers have cameras with good iso control to compensate for that so they do not take really dark photos. I see no excuse for someone to bring in such dark images as a final product with out editing them. Again he is a fashion photographer that is just getting into shooting weddings and knows nothing about softboxes.

This guy is a fashion studio photographer and from the one photo that I saw of his he is pretty good in the studio but he is trying to be a wedding photographer now. My studio is inside of my family’s printing company and we print photos for other photographers. So he brings us his first wedding to be made into a photo book and my dad had to correct every image which was severely underexposed. I dont understand how a good studio photographer could be so bad at lighting a wedding. Since he is into studio photography you would think he knows a bit about external flashes and off camera lighting?

BUT I cant find his studio anywhere on the internet. The only facebook page I found for him has 12 likes and he told us he had a few thousand likes. I just feel like hes a little fishy.
