I like the look of the website though and it navigates easily. Id change the salmon color of the buy button and title or add it to the main page so that the layout flows nicely.

Update on essence wedding productions. He actually admitted that all he does is change his iso and lets the camera decide the other settings after looking at his proof and being surprised at how the photos look on our monitors.

Defiantly too high. There is so much noise. It looks like their aperture on the lenses they used did not go wider than f/4. I dont think they have the right equipment for indoor weddings. You may be right they probably are new because they don’t seem to understand lighting either.

The first image was a mirror shot and you could not even see the guys face. Of course the photo was tilted too. Almost every photo was out of focus. Their iso was set to 1600 throughout the whole wedding. I have noticed a few older guys in the area not doing to well with digital. Its odd. Guys that have been in business 20+ years. Though these guys don’t say how long they have been in business I have a feeling that they fit into that group.

What I really hate is bad business practices:

I just saw this: “To wrap up the year. We are letting our customers name there price! If you have a cooperate event, wedding, anniversary party or family reunion and need a photographer, we will let you name your price and we will give you a package with prints, and a disk of images, with possibly a photo-book. Make if you call us to schedule a sitting. you will receive 10 free 4×6 prints with your event. ”

 

& The profile photo says “Ask me how to get free photos”.

iliketag – I have also seen that book at barns and noble. They have so many great lighting books that I want.

Don’t market what you don’t want to sell. If you don’t like the look of selective coloring for example then do not show it as something you have done.

I love the frog photos. The lighting on them is nice. The weed is boring as a subject but the images are technically sound.

I think a lot of people feel like they can say whatever they want on the internet (especially forums). Most of the time these people probably would not say what they say to your face and hide behind their computer screen. Stupidly some people do this with their name or even worse business name attached to the account and it can hurt you really bad. On the other hand people that know you or even your clients can leave a bad review on the internet making you look bad. Social media and the internet in general can be bad but its all about how you handle it.

That is a candelabra not a chandelier. I see the base of it on the floor. The photoshoping does look pretty bad though.

Eh id rather try to sell prints since my family owns a printing company. I dont like the idea of the client most likely sharing the gallery and having guests at the event download the images. I charge for downloads and have had guests from weddings buy prints from me so I really think this takes extra money from people.
Also zenfolio give the ability to enable free downloads so if I ever want to give up on prints ill just use what I already pay for.

Also another thing about prints is they have to be able to see it and hold it to want to buy it so keep several samples in your studio.

Thats rediculious. It says on the website that the name is regestered but I believe that would mean no one else can use it as their business name. They have no right to say people cant use it in their business decriptions. …if that is the right person anyway

Never trust the screen on the back of your camera. Always look at the histogram and zoom in to make sure the image is in focus and has little noise.
