MendParticipant
i watch america’s next top model, mostly to see the end pictures they show of the models, and a few years back they did a shoot where all the models were in water with pretty much only nose up of the head was shown(a few had hands/arms or legs also in the shot). so based on what you are saying about the copying ideas, i could say that you are copying that photoshoot with your picture of the girl with only nose up showing in the water. people get similar ideas and not much you can do about it. it’s like hair styles, there was once a person to be the first with a Mohawk, so should that person be allowed to sue anyone else who gets one? i’m sure that person is long dead, but i find the point still stands.
i do say that the big hair and colors are too close for my liking if it was my pictures, but comes down to like what was said, what proof is there they saw your pictures before they took theirs? but i do see the flattery in it, if they really saw your pictures first then took the pictures, just means they liked the idea so much they wanted to do their own set. but the poses aren’t exact, so aside from how the model looks, it doesn’t look like they were trying to copy the picture.
i’m probably about to ramble, so i’m just going to leave this topic now.
MendParticipanti’m not a pro, just a hobby photographer. so not sure what my level of skill really is, to which i’m not sure if my before and afters would be worth sharing lol
mostly commenting to say that i agree on the like seeing the before and afters. but that’s partly from the photography point and partly from the hobby photo editor in me lol
MendParticipanti saw this guy post about his photography. i don’t know anything about him really but i saw a bunch of people saying they love his work and that it’s amazing…..what are they seeing that i’m not?
MendParticipantsweetemotions……i think some of your pictures could been ok pictures…but your editing is horrid. i would hate to receive pictures with the way you edit. sorry if i’m being too blunt, but none of your editing styles make sense in making a picture look “good”
MendParticipantanother note
that Cynthianna girl makes me ashamed to live not very far from her. i’m like a town or two away from where she’s located
MendParticipanti use the newest version of paint shop pro for my editing. there’s a few things that PSP doesn’t have that PS has that i wish it did, such as healing brush. but the new version of PSP lets you use brushes from PS so that’s nice for when making dramatic edits (for editing purpose, not photography purpose)
MendParticipantfor that picture ^^
i see a spot they missed for cutting out the background, just below the girl’s hands between the guy’s arm. but at least their cut out edit they did actually looks good, unlike other ones we’ve seen here.
MendParticipanti don’t think i’m going to follow this thread anymore if people don’t shut up and get back ORIGINAL topic. not wanting to sound rude or anything but i want to see links to fauxtogs not drama from people on this thread, or critiques, make your own thread to ask for the critiques.
MendParticipantmore “pros” should read this lol http://improvephotography.com/1521/20-tips-for-starting-a-portrait-photography-business/
MendParticipanti mean like i liked checking this post to see spotted fautogs, but not it’s just getting crazy with the last few posts on here
MendParticipantwhat is happening to this post?
MendParticipanti do photography as a hobby, but i also like to do photo editing as a hobby. and seeing all the hack jobs of editing that these photographers are doing bother me soooooo much. like those examples of the paint brush tool.
i’m not perfect at either hobby, but i do better editing job, and possibly photography too if i actually attempted portraits, and i don’t even get paid for my edits.
MendParticipantanother page someone is using to bash pictures. the “you call yourself a photographer” does seem like they are trying to help, not the best way. but this new one i’ve found seems like they are just sharing what the “you call yourself a photographer” posts and a few of their own from the same pages that are getting shared but the difference with this one is it looks like they are wanting to just share and comment to be rude
https://www.facebook.com/thewaronfauxtography
says it was created in late 2012 but only started to be active after the other page got more attention
MendParticipanti had noticed that. there’s a few “photography” pictures on her personal profile that isn’t on there and the editing is horrible and she’s all loving it.

not sure what to say about her stuff
