    I tried – but they wanted a minimum of 100 words, and I couldn’t come up with 100 words about that photo . . . . .

“And just because I post a photo in my portfolio doesn’t mean that I believe it to be flawless.”

I would not expect it to be, either.  But then, why is it you seem to hold others to that standard?

My issue with you JJ, is not your photography.  It’s not perfect, but whose is?   My issue with you is that you are condescending without cause, obnoxious without reason, and generally rude to just about anyone asking a question.  Not the comportment I would expect from a professional.  You can be blunt without being a jerk.  All I am saying is tone it down – say what you need to say without coming across like Freddy Kruger.

Got to hand it to you JJ, that was a good catch.

In this case, it is evidence of evidence – what is called “parole evidence”.  Legally speaking, it may or may not be admissable in court as proof, it depends on the state.  However, as JJ said, albeit less politely, I think in this case it is more than sufficient to tell the fauxtog to sit on it and spin – you paid for the photos, including the copyright – they are yours to do with as you please.  If she wants to get a lawyer – see you in court.  99 times out of a hundred, the whole lawyer thing is either a bluff, or comes to nothing when the lawyer tells them they don’t have a case.

Just one point – they are not considered registered unless registered with the copyright and trademark office, and a certificate of registration issued.

“People say I’m really good”       What people?  Friends, family, clients?  They may like the photos (or not, but are too polite to say otherwise), but are generally not capable of assessing technical merits.

“I really doubt you’ll find anything wrong with my work.”   No one is that good.

“I’m pretty damn good!”   This reminds me of an X Factor Audition – if it were, I would have just buzzed you out.  Over use of vignette, inappropriate selective coloring, “snapshot” comps, over processing, color balance isssues,  . . . .  I think I’ll turn this one over to JJ – it’s up his alley.

“I’m pretty damn good!”  Really?  uuuuummmmmmm, no.

No, you’ve pretty much hung that label on everyone.    That’s why no one pays much attention to you.

    To JJ:

“You are a fauxtographer. You don’t deserve any money at all. The problem isn’t your equipment, it’s you. Hope this helps.”

Don’t pay any attention to our resident troll.  He claims everyone except himself is a fauxtog, and is nothing more than an obnoxious know-it-all.  Wait for some real feedback.

What was the purpose of the knucklehead posting the video loop as part of this?”

Just an obnoxious infant having a rant.

    Ignore the troll.
