Oh Oh I wanna play….how about the ship that spends all of her time finding fault in other people’s work in every photography forum instead of taking pictures….haven’t seen any updated work lately brown eye.

Actually Brown Eye that site is no better than any of the other links posted here. And it was portrayed as a business site. You have multiple places that state that you charge for services provided and you have a client tab.

We are only doing what she does to everyone else everyday.  And this would have stopped a long time ago if she were able to just take critique gracefully without making excuses. Also she started this forum to ridicule other people’s work so how is it wrong for us to do the same to her? Also I think peoples honesty is being mistaken for being mean. The truth is hard to hear huh brown eye

Because Seth, Brown Eye has said that professionals should use top of the line equipment. She said that Rebels were not good enough for professional photography even though they are decent cameras. At least I think that is what cicely meant

@ Seth. I was wrong to say the entire shot of the baby is over exposed. The baby is exposed perfectly with great skin tones. The edges (where the blocks are) are certainly too bright. And the blocks are awkwardly placed. It is just an awkward photo and one that I would expect to see here.

The couple in the frame is “wrong on so many levels” for the following reasons. the frame is placed at a strange angle. the eye is not naturally drawn to the subjects. The bride has the strangest look on her face. almost like she is smiling but wanting to get it over with.  Also the black and white conversion could be tweaked to improve the overall look of the photo. The grooms head is also at a weird angle, I m guessing either to fit in the awkwardly place frame or because the bride is short (I know the photog has no control of height differences).

The couple with the leaves is just odd. The groom looks like he wants to be anywhere but there and the bride just doesn’t look like she is having fun, which is what is supposed to happen when you throw a pile of leaves in the air. In brown eye’s portfolio she has multiple different clients that are throwing leaves. If this is one of her signature shots then I was just saying that I hope she didn’t force it on them. Weddings are difficult because of the time constraints so photography can be limited.  As far as the foot room, I will not fault brown eye for that because, especially at weddings, that is a common mistake made by even pros. Does that explain it better

I have seen you numerous times bashing fauxs for using selective coloring or other types of props. However when I showed the bad photo that you did with props your defense was ” the parents wanted it. So I got some blocks. Is that my strongest image from that session? I don’t think so myself. So I think it’s unfair to call it a representation of my ideas as a whole.”  Isn’t that what numerous other people have stated in defense for their artistic decisions.  And you always shut them down.  You sound like a hypocrite. If you don’t think that is a strong image why is it in your online portfolio?

Just wrong on so many levels

You managed to make people look completely bored while throwing leaves in the air. I hope you didn’t waste time on their wedding day to get this shot

How very cliche’. It is so overexposed that I can barely read the blocks, which seem oddly placed. Lets stand above the baby laying on his back and call it photography…No wait it needs blocks…

My Heart now back to you. I admire you for changing the negative tone of this forum, and i am sorry that one person ignored that.

ideas when moving to a new city: join a camera club that way you can network and meet others in the industry. i think you would benefit form taking classes to gain technical knowledge, which will also help your meet other photographers.  perhaps advertise free shoots so that you can gain practice. people will remember your generosity and you may gain potential clients. reach out to local charities (the sometimes need a photog for events).  Try to find an established photographer and be his/her assistant. That is the best way to learn.

I think once you learn the technical side of photography your clientele will build up.

I agree that your website needs to be changed. It is so hard to navigate and potential clients with get frustrated. The website if very cute but if you want to use it for business then you will need something that is more efficient.

Brown Eye. please take a look at how you respond. no one said anything about your “critiques” being invalid. they said that your attitude in general sucks. and no one was blatantly disrespectful to you. everyone was just stating their honest opinion. but i did notice that you are the only one who has used swear words….”class A assholes”. come on show some respect for yourself and for your business. On other posts you have called photographers in your area “creepy” , you have given names and posted things that you “heard” from your friends. you don’t even have first hand knowledge sometimes. on a comment on the first page you stated ” I vow to never name my future children idiotic names like Rayne and Shyne (or name a boy any name with a Y in place of another vowel like Aaidyn, or name a girl Nevaeh, Charity, Chastity, etc) lol.” You have also argued every time someone critics your work or decision ie defending the term semi pro, defending the use of actions, defending the use of dutch angles, you get defensive about not finishing college (which is nothing to be ashamed of). You have teased people for misspelling words even. You talk about people who should not charge for your services but one post by you states “I took a few photography courses in college and thought i was good then but now i see that i was not” then you imediatley defend it with ” but it was a learning process and i never charged anyone for photos back then” then you immediately contradict yourself by saying “well except some family photos for a friend, didnt charge much, but then were horrible but they knew i was a beginner. what is that about? I have looked at your portfolio and the majority of your clients look extremely uncomfortable. I can post links to your site if you would like to see if people agree with me. Bottom line is you have very extensive technical knowledge and it shows in your work (that is a compliment btw). But your holding yourself back because your people skills seem to be lacking, which in turn will plateau your business. You seem very worried about what other people are doing instead of worrying about yourself. You can hate me and curse me out some more if that makes you feel better ,but it is true. we are not bashing you. only stating the obvious. please try to open your mind. i think people are just annoyed at the amount of personal information that you give with each critique. So be mad if you want to but it is all accurate and true. that is how you come across

Camera clicker that is why I asked about the website. I agree that it is very busy and difficult to navigate.  If that is your business page, I would consider revamping it so that it is more user friendly. It was hard to pick from the busy collage, and clicking to open and close is tedious. For me the entire site was distracting.

Your images show that you have a talent for art. Take time to work on your technical skills and you will improve.  From what I saw your photos have alot of noise. Are you shooting at a high ISO? Are you applying noise reduction when you post process? What type of camera are you shooting with?

My heart I am sure that you will receive a 17 page document from brown eye very soon detailing everything that you have done wrong and how she would have done it so much better. Just kidding. Well not really but lets talk about you

Two questions: What type of camera and lens are you shooting with, and is that your business website?
