    I think they are cool shots!

    Don’t you love fauxtographer’s excuses….There is always a reason why they take bad pictures…and it is never their fault.

    Capuchink, I totally agree with archy. That looks extremely dangerous. My other wonder is where the parents were for this photo.  I would definitely say you should send the person a private message. Maybe even include a couple of links to a website that describes the safety issue.

    I agree with cameraclicker.  Look at their work. But also make sure you are meeting and seeing the work of the photographer you are going to have photographing your wedding. I have heard horror stories from a couple of people that said they saw a portfolio and met with someone and it wasn’t who showed up at their wedding. And to top it off, the pictures weren’t good.  That is usually from a company that has several photographers to choose from.

    This is a girl who is my cousin’s girlfriend’s cousin or something like that. LOL.  Either way, she is your classic fauxtog. I mean she can’t even correctly spell HER OWN camera brand!

    Here is a comment on her personal facebook page (where she spells it wrong):  http://i48.tinypic.com/33kzrde.jpg

    And this is a quote from her “business” page  https://www.facebook.com/saycheesephotograpy:

    I’ve always loved taking pictures of my kids…I take tons actually. Its just a hobby I picked up and enjoy doing. Its not your major editing I do, I do natural ( : I am not your “professional” that does all the special edits and affects although like I said before I do some editing but it’s natural ..all I edit is usually the lighting and maybe if I want it black and white.
    If you have any question fill free to contact me at any time! ( : By phone or email

    And yes, she does charge people, but I have no idea how much.

    @browneyedgirl  I do agree that there is potential there, but focus has to be the number one thing you get right. You can fix poor lighting but you cannot fix a badly focused photo.

    @stef
      totally agreed!

    I haven’t really had to deal with any fauxtographers, but I did have to deal with someone who would be the perfect client for them. She was someone who worked with one of my sisters, and sent me a message on my page asking how much I would charge to take photos of her and her 6 month old. Well I usually give people who my sister refers a discount.  I asked her what her budget was in order to determine what kind of discount I would give her, and see what exactly she was looking for. This was her response (her spelling and everything):

    “Depends on how long of a session it takes to do pics  i hve someone tht is willing to do flat rate of 40 bucks to do it but am unfamiliar with her work and doesnt hve fb page to se previous work. I would be willing to pay 25Per hr or so n also depends on what u are able to provide us with as far as backdrops go and props etc.”

    Well I do not have a studio, but I do have a portable background stand and backgrounds that I will gladly take to a clients location. (Which also is figured into my rates).  I kindly informed her that I would not be willing to lower my prices that much, and best of luck to her with her other photographer. (in case you wanted to take a look….here is the photographer she was referring to:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blue-Anchor-Photography/226986970737493)

    What I wanted to tell her that $25 an hour isn’t even worth the gas to drive to her location. Let alone set up a background, lights, etc….

    Every day it amazes me what kind of bad pictures people are willing to pay for just to save a couple of dollars.

    @browneyedgirl  Couldn’t help it, had to look at her magazine covers. Then I saw this….wow is it creepy.
