Oh and PS. It was windy that day.  I am thinking about focusing on a skill every month and then combining that skill with the one before it. I also want to try a 100 day challenge.

On a few of them I was using manual focus and then I switched over to auto focus. I have a manual zoom on my camera. Right now I am using a fujifilm HS20exr. I am saving up my money for a Nikon but I don’t know which one I want yet. I am still researching. I do mostly still life and nature shots but I want to become a more  well rounded photographer so I want to learn  everything I can.

Thanks for the info. I apprieciate it. I need a lot more practice. Just about everything I shot yesterday were tossers. I started my flicker account so I can see my progrss over time. I know I need to work on focus and white balance and color saturation. And composition. Pretty much everything.

I can see a huge difference between your photos and her snapshots. Yours look pro hers looks like every other snapshot out there. I agree with the others when they say steer clear of collaborating with her.

She was playing in the grass looking at bugs. Hense why she is crouched looking.

Thanks. I still have a tons to learn, but I think I am gradually getting there. I know I have a better grasp now on how apature, shutter speed and ISO work together. Used to I would never take my camera off of the preprogrammed settings and now I am expiermenting more and more with manual mode and Apature priority and shutter priority settings. I think those pics came out fairly decent for not having a tripod with me (they were spur of the moment pics and my tripod was in my car and I was in hubby’s truck..) I used the roof of my husband’s pick up truck and my palm to hold the camera still.

This is one of the photos I took the other night. It isn’t perfect but I like it. Feel free to check out the other 4. I just started my flickr account.

I am right there with you Mrs.Woo. I am hating most of my pictures here lately too. Though I did get a couple of neat ones at the carnival the other night.  My favorite was of the Ferris wheel.

Thanks for the encouragement IHF. I was outside with my camera yesterday taking some pics of my youngest son when he stopped and looked up to the sky and pointed out this huge hawk flying through the air chasing another birt. I was intantly insired by it, but as luck would have it my batteries of coarse died. 🙁 Oh well guess  it wasn’t meant to be. Tomorrow I plan on going out to the dunes in Monahans and see what will inspire me. I am trying to get back in my groove. I will post my pics of my adventures later on.

Like I said before I want to get back in my groove again.

I am at the point in my journey where I am learning everything I can about how my camera works and how to get the best photos I can out of it even with it being just a bridge camera. It is a fuji fine pix HS20exr. I am expiermenting more and more with it seeing what works and what doesn’t. I don’t really do any portrait type pictures except of my own family. I mainly stick to still life. (and the ocassional animal). I am finding since we moved here that I am less inspired by things. My favorite things to take pictures of were really old churches and Cemetaries on the east coast and here in Texas there is none of that .  I was working really hard to try and learn the basics then. I just feel like I am losing my skills that I picked up when we lived in NC  living here because I just don’t pick up my camera as often. I think I will become inspired once more once the flowers start to bloom here.

I do know that I need a lot of work on my focusing and fine tuning it. But I have noticed that over time my work has gotten stronger.

I do that too Mrs. Woo. When we lived in NC we had old cememtaries everywhere and I did a study on them…Many would ask me why and I would respond with Why not? It was a good learning expierence for me. It was also something that was unique and facinated me. I got what I thought were some interesting shots but I also know that I still could use a lot of improvement. And I saw where I needed improvment. My biggest issue is focus. I have a hard time getting that razor sharp focus. But that also makes me want to work that much harder.
