You call 3 pictures of guys and 1 watch with 77 pictures of scantily clad women broad? Maybe you should look up what broad means. Also, when have you EVER seen a picture of a watch with the photographers logo on it. That screams amateur.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantI see nothing broad about your “work”. “You’re a decent looking girl, take off your clothes so i can take your picture”. These women don’t even look attractive in 99% of the photos. Probably because they weren’t comfortable with the photographer.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantThe pictures aren’t terrible but they aren’t good either. The tilt or “dutch” is ridiculous. Just stop. I should’t have to turn my head just so i can look at a picture oriented correctly. The skin tones look fine to me though.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantThanks for the feedback. Mantis and boat were both taken with a point and shoot. Mantis was on a hike in Okinawa and the boat was taken when I was walking out to go deep sea fishing. Photos of opportunity that I just really love. I knew the shisha dog was too dark and muddy. I actually have a better version printed. I never thought about the power lines though. The girl is the loud dress is a friend and she was stiff the entire shoot. She just had no idea how to pose. Beach 2, that isn’t concrete, it’s a coral formation. I see what you mean though.
Ohh, I don’t intend to start a business. What I do takes care of myself and my kids just fine. Photography is my hobby and borderline obsession.

Just an enthusiast who loves photography. We could probably learn from each other. http://www.flickr.com/photos/89989598@N02/

You could use some practice but you don’t have bad images. Work on posing and composition. It looks as though you shoot in RAW and use a little too much fill light. Try using actual light modifiers during the shoot rather than trying to even the lighting out later. Fill light takes away contrast. Our eyes like contrast. The pictures will look better, in my opinion.
p.s. Im also in Cheyenne and I like shooting at Lions park as well. If you want I can send you a link to a few sessions I have shot there. They might give you a few more ideas for your shoots, if you want.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantYes, you have improved. Try to keep improving.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantIn the third image it isn’t bad, but personally I don’t think lens flare has any place in portraits. Just my opinion.
Click It And Stick ItParticipant@lincoln What’s the fauxtog going to do? Sue him? I think not.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantI think many of them have the contrast pushed too far. Some have the saturation pushed too far. When taking landscape photos, you should never have unfocused images. You have an eye for interesting things, you just need to study up on your technical skills.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantEwwwwww, ACTIONS!? Personally I don’t like them or use them. Its only cheating if you didn’t built the actions yourself. If you took them from someone or downloaded from the net, then yeah, it’s kind of cheating. But everyone has their own opinion on actions. This is merely mine.
Click It And Stick ItParticipant@soaring turkeys She seems to know just enough to sound stupid. My favorite lens is the one that is going to work the best for what Im shooting at the time. ISO means virtually nothing on a cloudy day. I can shoot at ISO 100 with my 50 1.8. They have RAW conversion programs? Mine open up automatically in Photoshop CS5.
Browneyedgirl, You’re definitely not a faux, but you do have composition issues. If they are part of your “style”, like your dutch angle, I would reconsider. A photo should be able to stand on its own without funky angles. Personally I hate dutch.
Click It And Stick ItParticipantDon’t apologize. This was well thought out and I agree completely. Sure marketing yourself to this demographic may not provide for your family full time, but it’s not a bad way to supplement your income while providing a good service to lower income families.
Click It And Stick ItParticipant@MBC Photography for me is a very serious hobby, almost to the point of obsession. I agree so much with your last post. Im currently in this stage where people always tell me they love my pictures and I should charge, but I still won’t. Im not willing to charge for good when there are so many great photographers out there. I am extremely critical of my own work and I am always looking to get better.
BTW, I love this
“But it does bother me as a photographer because I believe that any client who pays good money for a ticket deserves to get a seat for the game, not a practice.”
