She is driving me crazy! She doesn’t want to hear my real opinion on her “portfolio”…

Holy cow.  If this website ever ran out of fauxtog photos to post, there is a GOLDMINE of photos on her facebook

Oh my. Out of all of the pictures I looked at on her page, I could not find one that I thought was decent. It was like viewing the scene of an accident. The one that really got me was the “belly” shot where the girl has visible hair stubble on her stomach.Sure it happens, but why not edit it out to make her look better?? I would be pissed if that was me in the pic and it was posted on FB. Someone PLEASE take the camera away from this person! I don’t see her improving at all.

I thought I saw a decent one of a dog, then I made it bigger. It was all outta focus. -_- In this vein of thought though there’s this lady http://www.facebook.com/MarkaelaPhotography?fref=ts  who has been offered help from numerous people. but insists that she needs to spend money on props, not an actual dslr, or classes/workshops -_-

Oh. My. God. Both of these fauxtogs are to gag on! I haven’t seen much worse than them. Ashley Adey not only can’t take a picture, but posts everything in “text speak.” How unprofessional. And she charges extra for shooting in cold weather? Why, because it’s more inconvenient for her? I’ll guess that she’ll have worse camera shake from shivering. The iPhone screenshots for pricing are way amateur.

And Markaela. Holy on-camera flash. And she uses Lightroom- showed the before and afters, I don’t know how it’s possible to make all her blah photos look even worse in her “after” images, but she did it. Crazy saturation/contrast. And this is super professional also… https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=479906298710733&set=pb.471447366223293.-2207520000.1353920181&type=3&theater

I’m seriously tempted to comment mean criticism on photos like this, but so far have bitten my keyboard tongue just so I may remain on the higher road, but it’s so hard to not say something.

This is probably the worst maternity photo I’ve ever seen. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=483663361668360&set=pb.471447366223293.-2207520000.1353919989&type=3&theater

I went through a lot of Markaela’s photos and several people have left comments telling her the contrast and colors are pushed too high and someone even asked if she used Instagram to edit. She said “No?” and her camera is a mid-grade point and shoot!

Yea she deleted the worse comments. This, mind you, after she asked for opinions. She did although after that episode get a little better. Still not even in the even mediocre category, but she stopped putting out orange children after that.

I lied. This is the worst maternity shoot I’ve ever seen. You have to click through all of them. She’s got floating heads in the background, kids have food on their faces, and the dad needs to seriously rethink where he gets his tattoos done. Trashiest photo ever- https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=378750658834271&set=a.378676132175057.87071.174738102568862&type=3&theater

Lol I commented on Ashley Adey’s page (under her post where she was complaining that ‘people have nothing better to do’ than criticize her work). I offered to help her with tips and that it’s not that people have nothing better to do, there’s a reason for it, that she needs to invest in a real camera and lenses and software. I was trying to be nice but to the point… well, she deleted her whole post. Both these fauxtogs will never get better if they refuse to take advice!

…. This photographer has over 2,000 likes on her page… she has a few good images, but most are pretty bad. And what’s with this anyway? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=289248111194246&set=a.289248001194257.68293.250977805021277&type=3&theater

Is she cooking the kid for lunch? Too weird.

It’s hardly weird.  It’s adorable. I think some people here have become too comfortable with outing people who are starting out and are just a tad bit jealous of success.

Puzzle piece photographer may not be the best photographer out there, but her clients are very happy and that clearly shows with how many likes she has and with how many praises she gets. I doubt that she has 2000 family members just building her ‘success’ rather this many likes is innate proof that she has incredibly happy clients. Her shots may not be the most technically great photo but the kids look comfortable. They look happy. She can direct a scene better than most people in this forum that i’ve seen thus far.

These food-baby photos, yeah they aren’t the greatest shots ever but they aren’t marketed to photographers nor the higher market. They are marketed to the mothers who love that cute adorable stuff. and you know what, she’s a great at what she does!

Perhaps some of you aren’t Fauxtographers but there are quite a few people here that are GWCs and so far, none of you should even be giving anyone advice. A whole lot of people here on this website just seem to be real bitter about people having better success at photography. Not knowing that taking good photos is only part of running a successful photography business.

Yeah the first two people are quite bad but i challenge anyone here to show me their entire portfolio and i can guarantee that none here will be able to show better direction than this photographer.
