Does anyone have any recommendations for sites to upload photos where clients can view them? I have been researching several: Zenfolio, Smugmug, Photo Shelter, Photo Biz and Printroom. Has anyone used these or others that you would care to recommend?

As a business you can deduct the cost of building and hosting your web page from taxable income and you get the benefit of being able to pick a name that suits you. Also, you are not sending your customers to a site that is displaying other people’s work or possibly displaying advertising. My page is hosted by NetFirms but there are lots of options, some let you build a page from a template and others let you build from scratch. What you want the page to look like and how comfortable you are writing a page or having someone else write a page for you, compared to just dropping your photos at a prebuilt page will determine some of your options.
If you want to sell directly from the site, and want someone else to look after printing and collection, a page like http://fineartamerica.com/ might be appropriate.

Cameraclicker your idea is ok but I think it looks unprofessional to redirect to another website. With zenfolio they have a blog & selling features and if you set it up right it will say yourdomain.com all the way through the site.May 10, 2013 at 9:02 am #9602cameraclickerParticipantSarah, I was not suggesting redirection. Fine Art America lets you customize your page so it looks like your page instead of theirs, and I think they are one of the ones that let you use your own URL instead of having to use theirs. There are several sites offering that.
http://www.sarahashleyphotos.com/ uses flash, which I am told does not work properly with phones and tablets.

May 12, 2013 at 11:44 pm #9651NightroseParticipantI also use Zenfolio and really like it. They are linked with the printing company I use here in Australia so it works well with being able to order prints online. My page is at http://www.nightrosephoto.com.au
