Actually, Paint Shop Pro is by Corel.
March 11, 2013 at 11:25 pm #7678dstone81ParticipantCorrection to my previous post I was wrong on the paintshop it is Corel who owns that. I was thinking photoshop duh. I am a dunce tonight. Don’t mind me and go back to your regularly scheduled program. 😛 Gee I feel like a doofus…. I am gonna go back to my corner now and do more research…. Opps I am so embarassed.
March 11, 2013 at 11:29 pm #7683cass335Participant=) Hey we all make mistakes.
March 11, 2013 at 11:36 pm #7684dstone81ParticipantI know. Hey at least I had 2 out of 3 right. Like I said I don’t normally use editing software as I amtrying to focus on my SOOC shots first and then once I learn more with getting that down then I want to get into the editing part of it. An old friend of mine who is a pro once told me that you know you have major skill if you can take a picture straight from the camera and not have to do a lot to that picture in the post process. When I do edit I use Photo shop or lightroom. I have only used those a handful of times and that was just the trial versions.
March 12, 2013 at 12:47 am #7688fstopper89ParticipantI’ve never used Paint Shop Pro but have heard it’s almost or as good as Photoshop, just a different animal so to say. It would be interesting to try. Adobe certainly seems to dominate the market though.
The point is, this girl “thinks” that’s the editing program she’s using, and very obviously doesn’t even know how to properly use it.
March 12, 2013 at 12:50 am #7689dstone81ParticipantI agree with ya beg. I say know what you are using so if a client asks you can confidently say this is what I use.
March 12, 2013 at 2:14 am #7693fstopper89ParticipantOk, so she offers specific prints and CDs with all (originals and enhanced) photos for as low as $35? Wait, I’d lose money at those prices! What is she doing, printing at Walmart? Even a pack of DVDs costs at the least, $10…

And she did not forget to “like” her own post. And she couldn’t make her pricing more across the board, confusing, and disorganized!
March 12, 2013 at 2:51 am #7694MendParticipanti use the newest version of paint shop pro for my editing. there’s a few things that PSP doesn’t have that PS has that i wish it did, such as healing brush. but the new version of PSP lets you use brushes from PS so that’s nice for when making dramatic edits (for editing purpose, not photography purpose)
March 12, 2013 at 3:06 am #7695MendParticipantanother note
that Cynthianna girl makes me ashamed to live not very far from her. i’m like a town or two away from where she’s located
March 12, 2013 at 4:03 am #7696CamParticipantThis guy thinks he’s the greatest “photographer”, and he is really popular for it. He is only 16 aswell, those kind of fauxtographers are the worst.
March 12, 2013 at 6:07 am #7697JanJanParticipantI mentioned her in a different post. She calls herself a “Freelance Photographer”. Here’s her website – http://www.toyayoung.com/
Her pictures on her Facebook are even more worse!
I would fire the person who hired her to take professional pictures of them:

I am not following your logic. I see two pages of photos (9 photos) of some friends skateboarding that were all put up within the last week. What do you see?
March 12, 2013 at 8:55 am #7699cameraclickerParticipantI’ve never used Paint Shop Pro but have heard it’s almost or as good as Photoshop, just a different animal so to say. It would be interesting to try. Adobe certainly seems to dominate the market though.
I have a couple of old versions. I don’t get along with Paint Shop Pro as easily as I feel is necessary for effective editing. The last time I used it, I needed to get a photo into a specific format for inclusion in a Word Perfect 12 document and it is the only package I know of that does that format. Photoshop Elements is in the same class but works better for me, for what I want editing software to do. Photoshop CS5 has a better version of Camera Raw than Elements, and it can do editing in 16 bit mode that Elements restricts to 8 bit mode, so there is a lot more power in the full package. CS6 is out, but CS5 is meeting my current needs so I have not bothered to upgrade yet.
March 12, 2013 at 9:12 am #7700DrewParticipantPSE 10 & 11 allow selective 16bit editing I believe, at the end of the day it’s just a ‘tool’, we also have a saying in the UK, “you can’t polish a turd”….doesn’t stop these ‘fauxtogs’ from trying tho’….
I’m currently using LR4 and CS6 depending on what it is I wish to achieve and the time span I have in which to achieve it 😉Excuse the TLA’s (three letter abbreviations), PSE = Photo Shop Elements, CS6 = Adobe latest incarnation of Photoshop.
March 12, 2013 at 12:04 pm #7704poisonivyParticipantMend: You and I are actually a town away from her.
