disgusted
MemberI really find it incredibly sad that they are telling her how amazing she is just to be nice to her and make her feel good. They aren’t doing her any favors and with their false encouragement she is never going to get any better. I just don’t understand why people feel they can’t be truthful with their friends. I would rather a friend come to me a say “Listen, I know you love to do this but you really have a lot to learn” then BS me about how great I am and make me look like to total fool!

Memberoh, I know. Every time someone posts wedding photos like these: http://goportraitgallery.com/wedding34.shtml
I want to cry for the bride and groom. How HORRIBLE to have that happen to you.
My second cousin hired someone for her wedding from my home town (I’m across the country now) and I did almost cry for her, the woman used a Mark 5 (whatever it is, I’m Nikon lol) and used no flash in the church, shutter speed was 1/15 and aperture was somewhere in the 4’s I think – EVERYTHING was blurry. And outside, she wasn’t much better. Cousin just kept saying I don’t understand, our engagement photos were awesome. I didn’t have the heart to tell her they weren’t. I tried to edit up some of the pics, after the woman gave her the run around for a long time, and there just wasn’t anything I could really do.

MemberOk, Misty Nolan and Jennifer Teague are not that bad, especially not Misty. They don’t really belong linked here. Sure they may have something to work on, and maybe a few “duds” in their portfolios, but definitely not fauxtog.

MemberExit 10 is pretty bad, for the most part, but they have a few images that are alright. I do like this one: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=484108341602290&set=a.377354698944322.94694.218182021528258&type=3&theater However, her composition is bad because it looks like the beam is coming out of the girl’s head. The little girl should have been a little more to the left of the image frame, or the photographer should have shifted her position a little to her right. Those vertical lines are something I really watch for when I’m shooting, and it’s super easy to move just a little to get a different angle of view!

MemberOf course Cathleen’s isn’t a legitimate business. People just slap on the “LLC” to make themselves sound great.
This one:
^ She actually paid for this backdrop? What is this, 1992?
^ Really excellent chop job with the paintbrush tool.
Cathleen says this on her wall:
“Beginning in May I will be going back to school to learn more about my degree and several classes on Photograpy (my passion)!!! I will onlly be shooting sessions three days a week!!!! So, around April I will have my schedule and if you would like pictures done this summer please get them scheduled in April!!!!! Thanks for your continued support!!! Love to you all!!!!!!”
So, you go into the photography business BEFORE learning it? WTF.

Memberi do photography as a hobby, but i also like to do photo editing as a hobby. and seeing all the hack jobs of editing that these photographers are doing bother me soooooo much. like those examples of the paint brush tool.
i’m not perfect at either hobby, but i do better editing job, and possibly photography too if i actually attempted portraits, and i don’t even get paid for my edits.

MemberOn the Misty LaChance Facebook page.
“And now I think ive had enough of being put down by complete strangers for one day. With that my wine and chocolate will be accompanying me to my sad place.”
dont.care, you should be proud. You may not have saved the industry this evening but through your anonymous trolling, you and at least one other on this message board have made a woman, a stranger, go to bed sad tonight. Congratulations for that.
I am aware of the effect that unqualified and inexperienced photographers are having on the industry and it definitely sucks, there’s no doubt about that. So, in response, you create fake Facebook pages from which you troll people with rude commentary. This is what you do.
That’s pretty “pro”, bro.
