We are prior military and we would see Fauxtogs everywhere. While I do eventually want to upgrade my camera to a DSLR, I want to learn everything I can about photography first with the camera that I have. While it isn’t a DSLR, it isn’t exactly your cheap 100 dollar point and shoot. It actually has a lot of the same settings and controls as a DSLR with a few minor tweeks. Like my camera has non interchangeable lense , but it does have a manual zoom and focus on the lense barrel like most DSLR’s. It also has a selecter wheel on top to adjust things like apature and shutter speeds and iso. In full manual mode I use that wheel and a few buttons on top of my camera and along the side of the LCD screen to change my apatures, speeds, ISO and adjust my white balance. With all of these options I feel it is a good camera to learn the basics and perfect them before I get a DSLR. And even after I upgrade to a DSLR I want learn everything I can with it before I ever even concider charging others for my photography. Which I don’t see happening for at least another 10 to 15 years from now. Also I would personally invest my money into better equipment waaayyyyy before I would invest in props, but then again the type of photography I like doing I really don’t need props because there are no humans involved. LOL
