Yes sirree… that’s what was missing. I kept trying 2 or 3 flashes using ETTL and going “huh?” when I saw the blown-out images. I am shooting in RAW, and spent a year using / learning lightroom. The youngnuo triggers are easier for me to understand than canon’s proprietary system, so I think I’ll stay with those.

Try out different power settings and distances.

Yup, trial and error. That’s the way I learned film – well, some of it anyhow (my dad was very patient and knew when I was taking a ‘bad shot,’ but he thought it was best for me to see it for myself).
