Navigation is click and swipe, arrow keys, or click on the tiny dots. Going directly back to a specific image is hard. With no text, search engine optimization is difficult or impossible. Without knowing the URL, how would someone locate your page via Google?
As a gallery of portraits to direct people to, it works very well. The photos look good when filling a 24 inch 16:9 screen.
