“I ate his liver with some strained spinach and a nice juice box.”

  7. What’s so bad about it? OK, the lighting is awful. Actually, non-existent. So nil points for technical skill. But here’s a cute kid with a gorgeous smile, having the time of his life, covered in berries. It’s lousy from a technical POV, but I guarantee the parents love this. Say what you want about the technical qualities of the photo, but you can’t deny the photographer captured a great expression.

    • “but I guarantee the parents love this”…
That’s the problem right there. No matter how crappy a pic is of a kid, the parents love it because it’s their kid, not because it’s a crappy, good or great pic. It’s the same with the bride and her dress, the dog owner and his/her dog and so on. The thing is, when and if they actually come across a good pic, they’ll see that theirs is crap in comparison and wish they had something nicer. Sometimes. Sometimes they just don’t care. That’s too bad. Other than that, the “great expression” is yet another excuse for a crappy pic. Whether it’s blown, crappy white balance, crappy colour, oof, poorly lit and so on doesn’t matter when the expression is captured beautifully. Tragically not so. It’s like frying up your chicken half way. It may still taste great but watch out 30 minutes later! Yes, it was a good half way effort but why can’t people give these kids the nice skin they were born with? I guess we can be grateful he/she didn’t do a selective colour job on the pic.

    • Yes, he captured a cute expression, but there’s no context. Had the image included the fistful of berries or something like that to indicate that this was in fact NOT a zombie baby scene….and had the photographer balanced the lighting, checked background for that distracting bright spot, and not cropped the baby’s lower arm away in such an annoying way..then maybe this could have been a decent shot.

    • The photographer captured a picture that could be done by anyone with a P&S. It’s not professional quality, the parents could have taken this on their own. If someone paid for this photo, that’s a travesty.

    • I guess it’s worth $50.

  8. Perfect! They even screwed up the white balance and gave the baby that wonderful “no blood flow” look.

  10. The junk on the face is staged. It’s a little too “neat” on the camera side. Besides, who ever had a child that did this this with berries? Probably none, definitely not mine. You need to “paint ” the fruit onto the kids to get this look. It’s all staged, people.
