Bridal Silhouette

It’s great because you can’t see the bride’s face or any detail of her bridal gown!

  1. That anonymity may be a bonus.

  2. To me … The appeal is all about that little dust part ! I love this !

  3. “Total eclipse of the suunnnnnnnnnnnnnn”
Oh wait, those lyrics are total eclipse of the heart… my bad 😉

Wow. Just wow. I recently moved and my only competition in town is featured on here. -.- another $500 wedding faux tog no doubt!

    “Solar Eclipse”

  6. Faith Simbeck

a silhouette of my ass would look a hell of a lot better! ha.

  7. CRAP!!!!!!

I like what they were after. It was just poorly executed. Suppose you can’t blame them for attempting something tricky. Perhaps a bride wasn’t the best choice.

Perhaps the fauxtog should not be sharing the bad shots until they are well executed.

Everyone has bad shots … not everyone is stupid enough to put them up in their portfolio.

Oh but you blurred out the comments too. That’s usually the best part. #sadface

I htink it’s because we’ve been using the comments are our awesome awesomeness to find the fauxtographers websites and profiles. 🙂

  11. She does look a bit on the chunky side though… should have applied liquify abundantly too the shadow. And some selective coloring would have been nice too! Oh, and transparent layers! And bunnies, you can’t go wrong with bunnies! Oh wait, why not skip the liquefy and turn it into a baby bump? With a fetus layer! And the fetus holding a wedding ring and drinking champagne and a party hat… oh I should so go into fauxtography…

OOOOH! Having a fauxtographer alter ego … mine would have a mustach to show truly how evil fauxtography is. 🙂

looks like a bit of strobist gone bad so just turn up the blacks and make something else outa it lol

  13. I like the lamp post. It completes the composition.
But does this count as selective colouring or not? Most of the picture is back and white (well, *black* mostly) with just a few dashes of colour interspersed.

  14. she still looks fat though

  15. I’d guess it wasn’t supposed to come out like this … probably a total surprise to the fauxtog that the bride was completely in shadow, so they tried to rescue a case of bad lighting.

  16. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

Whether the silhouette was intentional or not, nothing is right in this photo… OMFG… and you gotta love the lamp post in all its distorted splendor… WOW.

  17. *sigh* poor lil fauxtog couldn’t even afford a half-decent flash or a 42’in reflector …which you can get for $35 online. Oh wait, fauxtogs aren’t skilled enough to know how to use a reflector!!!

  18. RealWedTog

Bad posing. Bad metering. Bad composition. Bad post production. Just BAD!

  19. I nominate this one for worst on this site… simply because the fauxtog doesn’t even understanding the basics of exposure or lighting. And for the final offense. the fauxtog actually picked this photo to post on the internet as part of their “portfolio.”

I really hope this recession passes over quickly. Desperation (trying to make a quick “easy” buck) and photography don’t mix well.

Mmm, gotta love the Instagram look.

  21. “But I put it on “P” for “professional”. Doesn’t that automatically make my images professional?

  22. How can you NOT do a silhouette shot with a figure like that?

Your work is good, but being mean is ugly. the point is the photographer sucks, the subject is just a victim here, so lay off her. It was her wedding day and she already has crap photos to remember it by, does she really need awful internet people making fun of her size? A true professional can see the beauty in everyone, regardless of size, shape, age etc. and brings that out in their clients photos. You being so ugly and having the balls to link to your site with hateful comments only makes you look unprofessional.

  23. True, but a reflector can sure as hell come in handy too and is a lot cheaper than a flash. Even a fairly low-end flash starts around $200, whereas a high-end reflector 5-in-1 reflector can easily go for $120. (And all flashes eat batteries, and I doubt any fauxtog would think to pack along an extra set. Besides I’d be saving my big flash for the obligatory poorly lit reception venue!! 🙂

Also a reflector is a lot easier to learn how to use, and seeing how high the sun is behind the poor bride, would have been a shoe-in in this case!!
