The model here probably was wanting something silly and cheeky (no pun intended) as opposed to seriously sexy. I have a feeling that the recipient of the shot knows that this was a humorous fun pic, and probably found it cute and in keeping with the model’s sense of humour.

Mostly agreed, but I also don’t know why you would stick this in your portfolio examples… unless “cheeky” pictures were your main modality. 🙂

The biggest thing wrong with this is that there is no separation between the ears and the dark background.
As for the topic of the photograph: Different strokes for different folks. I don’t see any harm in this type of photograph.
